Our 5-step guide to decorating your Jersey City Apartment
When you move into a new apartment, you need to figure out a way to make it reflect who you are and what you're about.
Your house, your rules - and, more importantly, your style. That's what it's all about!
If you don't know how to decorate your New Jersey apartment, here's our easy 5-step guide to decorating - and truly owning your new home.
Five Steps for a Fantastic Decor
1. First, let there be light!
The most important aspect of your apartment is lighting. The right lighting setting can make a room look amazing - while the wrong one can ruin how your room looks.
Make sure you go from top to bottom. First, change the light bulbs you have above. You should choose the right colors for you. Something dimmer or, perhaps, brighter.
Then, move to floor lamps and the ones you have on your nightstand. You can also add LED strips inside cabinets for better lighting in dark places.
And, if you love natural lights, we invite you to check out our rooftop at MRK. That's where our residents enjoy both the sun and the beautiful view of New Jersey!
2. Second, pick a style that suits you
Choosing what to bring into your home isn't something to take lightly. You'll have to figure out whether you want to go vintage, modern, industrial, rustic, or mix things up.
Depending on what you choose, certain colors and items will fit better than others. For example, a modern look goes better with clean colors and minimalist furniture.
At MRK, we offer our residents a luxurious, modern experience - and that's what we recommend going with. If you want to mix things up, a little vintage touch will be the perfect décor twist everyone will love.
3. Then, turn your walls into art
Has anyone been wowed away by a white wall? Certainly not! Unless that is, artwork covers the walls.
So, you have two choices (and you can pick both if you're bold!): paint your walls or buy works of art.
A fresh coat of paint will freshen up your new apartment's walls - throw a beautiful painting or two there, and you have something that screams stylish!
Painting your apartment isn't for Décor reasons alone. It'll give you a sense of belonging that nothing else will.
4. And now, re-build your bathroom
Ah, sure. We can talk about art, paint, furniture, and other things for days on end. But not too many people pay attention to the bathroom - and it's such an important place!
Think about it: that's where your day starts and ends. If you wake up in the middle of the night, you'll go there! Or, perhaps, to the kitchen for a snack. Either way, your bathroom matters!
Changing the showerhead, the toilet seat, and adding candles for a spa touch can make a huge difference - one that you'll be glad you made.
5. Fifth, add the finishing touches
The little things matter too! A new rug, filling up the bookshelf with your books, placing pictures here and there, and similar ideas are what turns a house into a home.
Don't worry about yoga mats or dumbbells, though! At MRK, we have you covered in that department: we have a yoga studio and a gym you can use.
And if you work hard, you can play hard as well: we have a party room available for you to host private events, among other things you'll soon discover.
